Blue kitchen gadgets complement my new kitchen perfectly

My new kitchen has blue quartz manufactured stone benchtops, blue ragged walls and Dulux® Warm Neutral cupboards.

The perfect accessories have to be blue!

I have always had blue bottles, cannisters, cutlery and pots and pans in my kitchens, even when they were 'Brunny' green!

If you know a blue person, what could be better than buying them lovely 'must-have' kitchen presents in blues?

Gifts with the decor in mind - Blue touches

This is something that would look great on the table for breakfast, or lunch.

Touches of blue, not too much blue!

Accenting your kitchen with blue and white china either on display or when entertaining adds special touches.

Gifts that add these touches might be large plates or bowls, accessories for the table, mugs, teapots, or even knobs for a dresser.

Perhaps the kitchen is dark, so try buying white with blue touches like this butter jar. If you buy a very blue accessory, then it will add to the room's dark atmosphere. Instead, select pieces that have more white than blue to provide some light reflection.

If the room is light, then mainly blue china or mugs would be lovely touches for the blue and white kitchen. Too white and the gift will get lost, so choose the present you buy according to the darkness or lightness of the room it is intended for.

Choose your gifts with blue touches with the room in mind and you won't go wrong.

Blue is my very favourite colour and

I have had blue bits and bobs in my house forever.

Blue and white themed gifts for the table

Buying a gift for a blue and white kitchen is as easy as getting your friend or family member a dinner set.

Perhaps modern in style, or maybe a beautiful traditional set of special china?

I love to drink out of lovely china mugs, and especially if they are blue and white. My (current) favourites are navy with white spots, and white with powder blue large polka dots!

Update: Bobby gave me a gorgeous white mug with a blue feather curling around it. That's my favourite at the moment.

Do you buy just any gift as long as it's blue?

Gingham curtains, blue and white checkerboard tiles in the alcove wall, and blue and white accessories, all would be pretty in a blue and white country or traditional style kitchen.

What do you pick if your friend has very modern or contemporary taste?

Modern/contemporary design has clean lines, clear bright colours and unfussy style. You would not buy a willow patterned plate for that type of kitchen. Instead you would look for some sleek square or rectangular plates in white or bright abstract floral or geometric designs.

A kitchen that has dark blue walls - sets off the accessories beautifully

Your gift could be something in a blue glass bottle, which can keep on giving after the contents are all gone. Or you could buy white china or mugs, or plant pots or whatever, to offset the deep blue of the walls.

Too much of a good thing...

Be careful not to be too heavy on the blue in any gift you choose for a room with dark blue walls or cabinets. Sparkles of white against the night blue would be striking.

Because the owner of the kitchen loves blue and white, he or she might love a touch of bright orange in a mug, or lime, turquoise, or sunny yellow. All of these can give some punch to a room decorated with blue and white.

Stymied? Here's some good ideas

Finding it hard to pick a gift for that friend with a blue and white kitchen? Try thinking outside the square to get a gift with a blue theme, but not exactly a blue kitchen utensil or plate.

These blue gifts are for the friend who has everything!

  • Blues music album
  • Blue pen and notepaper
  • Blue torch (flashlight)
  • Blue rag rug
  • Blue plant pot
  • Blue apron
  • Blue teatowel
  • Blue metal bar stool (s)
  • Blue phone case for his/her smartphone
  • Blue tote bag for the shopping

I'm sure you can think of more and more ideas!
